Learn How To Fix The Error Code 1068 in Windows® XP®
Sometimes when you try to share the connection in Windows XP, you might get error messages. The error message is as follows: "An error occurred while Internet Connection Sharing was being enabled. The dependency service or group failed to start" or "1068: Dependency service or group failed to start". If you have installed Windows Service Pack 1 (SP1) for Microsoft Windows XP, your system may show some symptoms. The connection folder will be empty and the internet connection will not start due to dependency failure. If you have installed Windows XP Home or Windows XP SP1 and you try to upgrade to Windows XP Professional, the system will show "1068 error". It might also occur when you try to restore your computer prior to the state before installing the service pack.
