Convert video files to a format that WMM can use
When you import video files to the Windows Movie Maker®, you should convert it into a format that Windows Movie Maker® can use. The accepted formats for imports are: WMV/.ASF, .MPG (MPEG-1), .AVI (DV-AVI), .WMA, .WAV, and .MP3. If your video files are not in any of these formats you need to convert it to use with WMM.

You need minimum system requirements to run Windows Movie Maker®. The required equipments include: MiniDV digital video camera, MiniDV tapes, Computer that supports a digital video connection, Microsoft® Windows® XP with Service Pack 2, which includes Windows Movie Maker® 2.1, i.Link port (also known as FireWire or IEEE 1394) on your computer.
