Windows® 7 VS Windows® XP
The operating system of a PC plays a vital role in the performance and the operation of the system. Windows® 7 which has been the successor to all the existing Windows® versions released Windows® 7 Home Edition, Windows® 7 Professional and the Windows® 7 Ultimate. The features of the system vary greatly due to period of manufacture. The Windows 7 has come with a high amount of features which included new application to be run through the Windows® operating system. The look and the feel of the entire system has been changed, the Windows® 7 sports the new “Aero Glass” theme, which includes a high degree of transparency in between the window, a new start menu was developed for Windows® 7. The Windows® XP comes with lesser fancy features, it provides the user with a simpler user interface.

The Windows® XP was a 32-bit operating system, hence the operating system only supported a maximum of 4 GB of memory RAM. The Windows® 7 is used by users who have need of high computing power. The system requirements for running both the operating systems varies to a very high extend. The system configuration needed to run a Windows® XP operating system is 64 MB of RAM, 1.5 GB of hard disk space and 233 Megahertz Intel® Pentium® processor. The Windows® 7 requires a more powerful hardware configuration to run the operating system, the minimum it requires is a 1 Gigahertz processor, a primary memory size of 1 GB RAM and minimum hard disk space of 40 GB.
