How to remove administrator password?
Firstly, you need to insert Windows® XP CD and boot your computer. After pressing ‘Enter’ to setup Windows®, it will ask you to start a repair process. Then you may press ‘R’ to begin the repair process. Setup will conduct a check on your disks and start copying files. After this, reboot the system. Press SHIFT + F10 after you see installing devices progress bar that opens a command line console. Afterwards, type ‘NUSRMGR.CPL’ at the prompt and press ‘Enter’. This will give access to user accounts. Afterwards, you may remove or change your password. After the repair is finished, you will be able to log on with your new password.
How to reset password?
To reset password you need to login as an administrator and then click on ‘Start’ button , ‘Control Panel,’ and double-click to open ‘User Accounts’. By doing this you will get a list of different user accounts that are on your PC. By selecting the administrator account, it will take you to ‘Account Settings’ screen where you may click on ‘Create a Password’ option. Now, you may be prompted to choose an option to make the admin account files private. Lastly, click ‘Finish’ after your selection. Close the ‘User Accounts’ window and then reboot your desktop or laptop normally.
