Fix ‘Active Desktop Recovery’
Step 1: Hold the ‘Windows logo’ key down and press ‘R’ on the keyboard. This would open the Run box.
Step 2: Type ‘regedit’ in the box and click OK.
Step 3: Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ Software\ Microsoft\ Internet Explorer\ Desktop\ Components.
Step 4: When you click components, you would see a key named ‘DeskHtmlVersion’.
Step 5: Right click it and select ‘Modify’.
Step 6: Under ‘Base’ select the ‘Decimal’ radio button.
Step 7: Change ‘Value Data’ to ‘0’.
Step 8: Click ‘OK’.
