The Blue Screen error in Windows® XP system is an error screen displayed by the operating system. The Blue Screen error is usually caused by system errors. When Windows® XP is suddenly terminated with an error; it shows the Blue Screen to lock up the system. This is done to prevent from damages to the system’s integrity. You might lose all your data that you were using that has not been saved. You might lose the system memory due to the Blue Screen error. The other reasons for Blue Screen errors during startup are overheating of components, damaged hardware, power supply errors or memory errors. There are many symptoms for the Blue Screen error. The resolution of the computer screen might get reduced. The screen may display strange patterns, poor pixel rendering and an unfocused screen display. The system can crash or might freeze for hours.

The system has a cooling fan on the backside of the screen. If the fan is not working properly or there is no space for the hot air to flow; then the system might get overheated. Another Windows® XP utility called ZoneAlarm® protects your system from viruses, worms, Trojan and other Hardware might get a number of problems while working. It might crash leading to data loss. The Blue Screen might appear to display the errors with the hardware. The Blue Screen error shows you that there are some problems with the hardware. Thus, it prevents you from using the hardware more so as to prevent more damages.
The system requires power for better and uninterrupted work. If there is any problem with the power supply, it might cause damage to the system. So, the operating system shows a Blue Screen error to alert the user about power supply problems.
The Blue Screen might show an error message “beginning of physical memory dump”. It might be because of many reasons. It might be because of the RAM problems. The RAM might have got corrupted during working. Another reason is with the memory. If the memory does not have enough free space allocated, then it will report the error to the user through a Blue Screen.
