In this case, you might want to change your Taskbar to look more like Windows Vista so it will be easier to use on your part. Changing the Taskbar to its classic look will not compromise the new features from Windows 7 that are worth using like jumplist and moving taskbar.
The following points include tips for making Windows 7 Taskbar similar to Windows Vista Taskbar:
- Making it work like the old Taskbar
- Adding Quick Launch
- Quick and easy
Making it work like the old Taskbar
The first thing you have to do is to right click on empty space on your Taskbar. Click on ‘Properties’ and it will show a window with tabs, usually the ‘Taskbar’ tab is the default tab. By default, the “Use Small Icons” is unchecked. So, click on that. This will prompt the Taskbar to use only regular size and height for the icons and buttons which are the same in Windows Vista. Under the ‘Taskbar’ button, click on either ‘Combine When Taskbar is Full’ or ‘Never Combine’. This way, the tabs will not show the icons. Rather, it will show a full length tab with the title of the content. Once you have applied the changes, the taskbar of Windows 7 will change and you will feel much more comfortable using it.
Adding Quick Launch
The next thing you can do is add the ‘Quick Launch’ button. Since Windows 7 has the function to pin or unpin a program; the ‘Quick Launch’ is not present in Windows 7. All you have to do is add a new toolbar and type in some functions to add the ‘Quick Launch’ button. If you are using large icons, you can go ahead and set the button in a large size so that you can see all the icons in full size.
Quick and easy
Changing your Taskbar is quite simple and easy and thus it will surely help in making the most out of your system. Just by doing some tweaks, you can enjoy Windows 7 with the familiarity of Windows Vista.
