Configure e-mail in Windows® Vista®

Launch default program of Windows Vista through Control Panel
In order to get started, you need to navigate to ‘Set your default programs’ which you can find under Control Panel. Windows Vista has Default Programs buttons in the ‘Start’ menu and you can save on some of these. It is possible to access Default Program applet from Internet Explorer. Navigate to Tools > Options > Internet Options. A box will be displayed in front of you. Here, you need to click on Programs > Set Programs button. This will open Windows Default Programs windows. There is an option as ‘Set Your Default programs and here, you need to choose the programs that Windows uses by default.
Set your default e-mail program in Windows Vista
You will observe that there is a list of all possible default e-mail programs and you can select the one which you prefer to set for various e-mail actions by default. You must be notified that you can use other e-mail applications; however, selecting the default e-mail, you will invoke default e-mail client whenever, you click an e-mail link on your web page.
Once you have chosen the right option, you need to click on ‘OK’ button to make changes and save changes for setting up a default e-mail account. Now, whenever you click on e-mail link, your default program such as Microsoft outlook will open in front of you.
