Increase dots per inch scale
To change the font size, right-click on the desktop and select 'Personalize'. Then a window might open and from that Personalization window appears, click on 'Adjust font size' (DPI). You need to choose the default scale of 96 DPI or a larger one of 120 DPI that makes the text more readable. In addition to this option, you could click on the Custom DPI and select another size (DPI). You could also change the color and size of the text.
Adjust the screen resolution
Select Start and go to 'Control Panel' and choose the ‘appearance and personalization’. From that select ‘Adjust screen resolution’. A window would open and there are three options such as smaller, medium and larger. Select one of the options that might change the font size in your monitor. In Windows Vista, you could easily change the font size, font style and monitor icon.
When you change the font size in Windows Vista, you might reset the Windows default font size to 75%, then back to 100%. For changing the font size, you might be able to adjust the font size or you could customize the DPI. After changing the font size, you need to restart your computer for applying the changes.
