If it is not done then the 'Office Live Workspace' team will schedule your account to be upgraded later. It would surely notify you by e-mail before doing so. When the upgrade is complete, all of your Office Live Workspace documents will be moved automatically.
Need For Upgrading
If the user has not upgraded and shares a document with someone who is upgraded, then both of them would have to access the document on Office Live Workspace until the user is upgraded. So the upgrading of Windows Live is beneficial in every way. The process of upgrading occurs in two phases. First is the optional phase and second is the mandatory phase.
