In order to configure the Windows 2000 Server settings, first you need to insert the Windows 2000 Server disc. Then reboot the computer and press any key that helps to boot from disk. Then accept all the license agreement by pressing F8. Then choose the drive option you want to set-up Windows 2000 Server on. Then all the files would be loaded into the partition from the CD. Then enter the name and product key, name of computer, and password for local administrator account. Also you need to set the date and time settings.
For configuring the Windows 2000 server connection click 'Start' and choose 'Programs' and than go to 'Administrative Tools'. From that you need to select the option 'Active Directory Sites and Services'. Then you would get the Active Directory Sites and Services window. You need to right-click on 'Active Directory Sites and Services' icon and select the option 'Connect to Forest'.
In order to connect Windows 2000 Server to the domain controller you need to choose the option 'Active Directory Sites and Services’ from the 'Administrative Tools' by choosing the start option and selecting the ‘program’ option. Then you would get the Active Directory Sites and Services window and right clicking on 'Active Directory Sites and Services' icon you need to select 'Connect to Domain Controller' You need to type the domain name of the domain controller in the 'Domain' text box for which you want to connect.
