File Recovery in Microsoft® Word 2007
The tools to recover lost or corrupt files in Microsoft® Word 2007.
Most of the people use Microsoft® Word 2007 for creating documents. One of the common issues that the users of Microsoft® Word 2007 can face is the loss of documents. In certain situations, you are forced to close a document due to some error, for instance when there is a power interruption, or if you forget to save the document before closing it. But, fortunately many of these documents can be recovered either partly or fully. Many Word recovery toolboxes are available to recover your lost documents. But some data will be permanently lost if the damage is serious. Recovery Toolbox scans and analyzes the source file. Then, it extracts the text from the file, and you will be asked to check whether the content is up-to-date. Now, you can export the data to Microsoft® Word 2007 without any modification.

Search tool for searching the original document
Start your search by clicking the ‘Search’ button from the ‘Start’ menu. Type the document name and search in ‘My Computer’. If it is not present there, then you might have deleted that document. Search in ‘Recycle Bin’ for the document, and if it is there, restore and return the file to the exact location. Microsoft® Word 2007 cannot restore files that have been removed from the ‘Recycle Bin’.
Search tool for searching the Word backup files
In Microsoft® Word 2007, there is a setting to create a backup copy of the documents. Before creating a document, always enable the ‘Create Backup Copy’ setting. Now, if your document is lost, you can search for the backup copy of the original document.
If no backup copy of the document is created, then you can search for the files in ‘Temporary Files’. Then, you can also search for the files by using the .tmp extension. You can restore the files found back to the original location.
Recovery toolboxes are used to recover a corrupt or damaged file which doesn’t open or the content of which is not available. It is then analyzed and kept in quick access list, from where you can start scanning the document. Once the scanning is over, the content of your document will be displayed and you can export it into Microsoft® Word 2007.
