Microsoft® Word 2007 Keyboard Shortcuts
Microsoft® Word is a word processor that was introduced by Microsoft ® Corporation. Microsoft® Word 2007 is one of the modified versions of Microsoft® Word. Keyboard shortcuts are a group of keys that are mainly employed in word processing. They help the users to perform an operation without the help of the mouse. It is much efficient, practical and healthy to use the keyboard instead of the mouse. Using the mouse always might result in Tendonitis (inflammation of your tendons). Studies have shown that using keyboard shortcuts allows users to work 10 times faster than working with the mouse. The amount of time you spend in looking for the mouse and then getting the cursor to the position is a waste of time. Reducing the working time could result in greater efficiency. Doing a work with the mouse is a time consuming process. You could avoid the use of mouse if you are familiar with the shortcuts. The keyboard shortcuts help the users to save their time to a great extent. Sometimes user should press a single key or a group of keys to do an operation. He/she could finish the job before the stipulated time. Thus by using the keyboard shortcuts users could save time and effort. It does not mean that you should not use the mouse anymore. Reducing its use by replacing it with keyboard shortcuts, will make your work easier, faster and healthier. There are a plenty of keyboard short cuts available.

‘Ctrl’ + ‘N’
This shortcut is used to create a new document. The new document is of the same type as the current document. Usually for creating a new document the following steps are followed. At the top of the Windows there is a row of menus namely File, Edit and View. From the File Menu select New. Then a fresh page is opened automatically. By using ‘Ctrl’ + ‘N’ you could avoid the above steps.
‘Ctrl’ + ’O’
This is used to open an existing document in the active Windows. To open an existing document in Word, first you go to the File menu and Click Open. Thus the document will be open in the existing format in the active window. Using the shortcut ‘Ctrl’ + ‘O’ you could open the document easily.
For closing a document you have to follow the following steps. From the Word page go to the File menu. Click the File menu and select Close. These steps could be avoided by using the shortcut ‘Ctrl’ + ‘W.’
‘Ctrl’ + ’Z’ is the shortcut applied to undo an action. Usually for undo an action you have to go to the File menu. Then click on the option Undo. If you are familiar with using the ‘Ctrl’ +’ Z’ shortcut you could save your time.
