We can export the text files by using the ‘Save As’ command. To export, click on the ‘Microsoft Office’ button and click on ‘Save As’ option. Now a ‘Save As’ dialogue box will appear. Then in the ‘Save as type’ box, choose the text file format. There are two text format options such as Text (Tab delimited) or CSV (Coma delimited). Then on the address bar type or browse the location that you want to save the new file and then click on ‘Save’ if you are using Windows Vista System. In Windows XP system, browse the location in ‘Save in’ box and click ‘Ok’.

To format the date, select the column formatted as text, select Text to Columns from the ‘Data’ menu. To move the minus sign to the left of the number, click ‘Advanced’ option in the Text Import Wizard and select the ‘Trailing minus for negative numbers’ checkbox.
