Microsoft® announces back-to-school deal
Once again Microsoft is offering its back-to-school promotional deal to eligible U.S. students who purchase a new Windows 7 PC. The deal includes a free 4GB XBOX 360 gaming console. Canadian students also qualify for this year’s program, which was launched there on last weekend.

U.S. high school or college students with proof of status — a student ID card or an e-mail address that ends in .edu — will receive a 4GB XBOX 360 when they purchase a Windows PC for US $699 or more. In Canada, the benchmark PC price is US $599.
The students will be getting the US $199 XBOX 360 console, which is the lowest-priced console from Microsoft. The gaming console does not come with the Kinect controller.
The deal can be honored through online retailers Best Buy and Fry’s Electronics in the U.S., and Best Buy, Future Shop, Staples and The Source in Canada. Online sellers include Dell, Hewlett-Packard and Newegg in the U.S., and Dell in Canada. Microsoft will also be giving out the deals through its own retail stores and at its U.S. Microsoft Store website.
