Microsoft® calls upon users to upgrade to Windows® Phone 7.5
Software giant Microsoft is warning the users of its mobile operating system Windows Phone 7 to upgrade to Windows Phone 7.5 (Mango) or face dire consequences. If a user fails to upgrade then he might not be in a position to download applications from the Windows Marketplace, whether it be by phone or via the Internet.
The version 7.5 of Windows Phone is equipped with more than just new features. The overall upgrade includes better protection for Windows Phone developers and their applications from pirates. If the user hasn’t figured it out already, it becomes easier to pirate applications using a previous version of Windows Phone. It is all because of this that Microsoft is calling upon all its users to upgrade, and is even warning them of blocking their access to Windows Marketplace if demands are not met.
Microsoft’s director of program management Mazhar Mohammed explained in a blog post that the upgrade requirement is linked to overall improvements on the Windows Marketplace portal.
