If the sentences appear distorted, it could be a problem with the way the alignment is set for the document. Look for the alignment settings on the toolbar at the top. You’ll find them in the ‘Home’ tab in the ‘Paragraph’ section.
If you want to alter the spacing between characters, you can do so by clicking the ‘arrow’ next to ‘Font’ in the ‘Home’ tab and changing the setting in the ‘Character Spacing’ tab.
